This is a discography of works by Queen. Since 1973, the British rock band has released a total of fifteen studio albums, five live albums, numerous compilation albums and multiple singles. In total Queen have sold over 300 million records worldwide. This article also covers the works of Queen + Paul Rodgers, a collaboration between Queen and Free/Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers.

History

Queen was formed by Brian May, Roger Taylor and Freddie Mercury from the remains of Smile in 1970. After acquiring John Deacon as their bassist in early 1971, the newly-formed band played numerous gigs throughout the year and recorded several demos, with the help of a friend of May's.Queenzone, " [http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/bio_view.aspx?q=3 Queen Biography 1971] ", retrieved 2007-02-15.] The band began showcasing the demos to record companies, to no avail.

In 1972, Queen eventually signed with Trident Studios after producers Roy Thomas Baker and John Anthony, impressed by the band's live performances, persuaded their bosses, Norman and Barry Sheffield, to look into the group. [Queenzone, " [http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/bio_view.aspx?q=4 Queen Biography 1972] ", retrieved 2007-02-15.] Later in their career, Queen signed a record contract with EMI and Elektra in the United States; the band would remain with EMI for the rest of their career. In 1983, the band terminated their contract with Elektra and signed with Capitol Records. In 1990, they once again terminated their U.S. record contract and signed with Hollywood Records. In 1991, Queen's entire catalogue was remastered and released on compact disc in the United States, and thirteen albums (all studio albums up to 'The Works' as well as 'Live Killers' and 'Greatest Hits') were remastered at Abbey Road Studios and released on CD and cassette in the United Kingdom between July 1993 and March 1994.

In 2002 "Pre ordained" was released, a collection of demo material mainly from the period between 1969-1973.
