deathcore band from Florence,South Carolina which incorporates elements ofdeath metal into their style.History
The band was formed by Justin Longshore in 2003 after the break-up of a previous group,
Tell Her I Said Goodbye . Their first full-length album was released in 2005 throughProsthetic Records . Shortly before, every member except for Longshore and Gunnells left, due to their "unwillingness" to tour. The band's influences includeMorbid Angel ,Cannibal Corpse (as evidenced by their band name, possibly taken from the Cannibal Corpse song, off of the album "The Bleeding" "Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead"), andAt the Gates .The band has released two records with Prosthetic Records: Bloodlust in 2005, and their third album, Malice, was released on August 21, 2007.
In early 2007 (on the day the band was to leave to record Malice), Anthony Gunnells was kicked out of the band for not attending practices and, for a time, left the band to become a repo man. He was replaced by ex-
Premonitions of War andDeadwater Drowning vocalist Nate Johnson. Gunnells joinedAugusta, Georgia 'sBy the Sins Fell Angels shortly after, however was soon kicked out of the group for the same reasons that he was kicked out of TTEOTD. Rumors have abounded that Gunnells has a drinking problem, and he has not solidly denied the claim. Gunnells went on to join the new uprising Florence, South Carolina band, The Moultrie Killer, but was also kicked out of that band for failing to show up for recording.Shortly before the US release of "Malice", the band shot a music video with acclaimed director [http://www.mgenyc.com David Brodsky] at the abandoned mental facility in Kings Park, Long Island, NY. The video went on to being one of the most played videos on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball in 2007 and was chosen as the #7 Video of the Year 2007. It has been in the Top 10 Music Choice VOD for nearly 6 months as of April 2008.
They are currently on the Bang Your Head 'Til We Raise The Dead tour with Whitechapel, A Different Breed Of Killer, and Impending Doom.
Musical Style
Their music mainly consists of extremely fast drum patterns, pedaling guitar riffs, and high-pitch screams in their early work and low growls in their newer material. They toured with As I Lay Dying,
In Flames , Trivium,Gwar , The Chariot,Cannibal Corpse ,The Black Dahlia Murder ,HORSE the Band ,It Dies Today ,Unearth ,Killswitch Engage , Terror, and Behemoth on the 2006Sounds of the Underground tour.Personnel
