He was born on May 18, 1932, in
South Sioux City, Nebraska and graduated from the South Sioux City Public Schools and theUniversity of Nebraska-Lincoln . He served in theU.S. Air Force as an intelligence officer. He is a formerschool board member of St. Michael's and South Sioux City, a member of theKnights of Columbus and of St. Michael's Church, and former Dakota county commissioner.tate Legislature
He was appointed on Sept. 1, 1993 to replace
Kurt Hohenstein . He was then elected to the seat in 1994 to represent the 17th Nebraska legislative district and reelected in 1996, 2000, and 2004. He currently sits on the Appropriations and the Legislative Performance Audit committees as well as chairs the Executive Board and the Reference committees .ee also
