The Grain of Wheat

The Grain of Wheat

The Grain of Wheat was a parable given by Jesus in the New Testament (The Gospel of John). Here Jesus explains how dying to a sinful and worldly life results in an abundant life for now to eternity. It is a parable about repentance; from hating God and loving yourself as a god, to loving God and hating your life that was separate from God. It is also a parallel to Jesus himself that died on a cross to give life in all its fullness. See [http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%2010:10 John 10:10] .

From John 12:24-26 (KJV) 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
