Yellow Turbans that occupied the city ofRunan during theend of Han Dynasty . As the Yellow Turban Rebellion declined, he and other Yellow Turban remnants likeLiu Pi , He Man, andHuang Shao (黃邵) allied withYuan Shu andSun Jian in the early 190s, and managed to amass tens of thousands of men by the middle of the decade. In 196 whenCao Cao launched a campaign against them, they all surrendered to Cao Cao after Huang Shao was killed byYu Jin .In the historical novel "
Romance of the Three Kingdoms ", even after theYellow Turban Rebellion was over, He Yi still occupied Runan. However, while fleeing from Cao Cao's approaching army, he was captured byXu Chu , then a volunteer army leader, and was given to Cao Cao who promptly executed him. There was no account of He Yi's death in recorded history.ee also
