Central Council for Amateur Theatre

Central Council for Amateur Theatre

The Central Council for Amateur Theatre ("CCAT") is the forum in which the various umbrella bodies representing amateur theatre in the United Kingdom meet. Members include:
*National Operatic and Dramatic Association ("NODA")
*Little Theatre Guild of Great Britain ("LTG")
*All England Theatre Festival ("AETF")
*National Drama Festivals Association ("NDFA")
*Religious Drama Society of Great Britain ("RADIUS")
*Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama
*International Theatre Exchange ("ITE")
*Drama Association of Wales ("DAW")
*Scottish Community Drama Association ("SCDA").

The latter two bodies are Development Agencies for Amateur Theatre in Wales and Scotland respectively and are lead bodies for communication with the Arts Councils, the Assembly and Government in their respective countries. Because there is no development agency for amateur theatre in England, CCAT assumes that role. The CCAT is a registered charity in the UK (Registered Charity No. 290046).
