Nga Toki Matawhaorua

The Nga Toki Matawhaorua of New Zealand holds the Guinness World Record for longest canoe ever built. It measures 35.7 metres long and up to 2 metres wide, and can carry 80 paddlers and 55 other passengers. In Newport, Maine on July 12, 2006...a new record was set by Nokomis High school teacher; Howard Whitten. The new record is set at 149 feet and one inch. The school is awaiting "official" verification.Nokomis did receive the official word that they indeed have the new world record!
