Cogitor Eklo

Cogitor Eklo

Cogitor Eklo is a fictional character from the Dune universe created by Frank Herbert, but is mainly featured in the prequel trilogy Legends of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. He is a living disembodied brain on Earth.

Born Arn Eklo a thousand years before the fall of the Old Empire, he was ashamed of his pleasure-seeking life. Together with a group of philosophers who were tired of their physical bodies, he underwent a surgery that preserved his brain in a canister, so that he can have time to understand the universe. After helping Juno inadvertently take over Earth, he lived for a thousand years under the rule of Omnius before helping Iblis Ginjo start the Butlerian Jihad against the thinking machines.

Soon after the Butlerian Jihad started Juno learned of Cogitor Eklo's involvement, and retaliated by destroying his tower and killing him by squishing his brain with her metallic hands.
