- George Radcliffe Colton
George Radcliffe Colton (1865 or 1866—1916) was the
Governor of Puerto Rico fromNovember 6 ,1909 toNovember 5 ,1913 , a position to which he was appointed byPresident William Howard Taft . He was originally fromGalesburg, Illinois . During the early part of the 1900s, he served in theUnited States Army and attained the rank ofcolonel by 1905. (However, this may not have been his final rank before retiring from the military.)References
