Lou Marchetti (1920 - 1992) was a
free-lance illustrator andportrait painter. He was born in Fondi,Italy . He attended Bryant High School onLong Island ,New York and later, studied for five years at The Arts Student League with twoscholarship s.As an editorial illustrator, he has had numerous commissions for Dell Books, Pocket Books, Lancer Books, Paperback Library, and Popular Library. His experience extends into various fields: preparation of
poster s for themotion picture industry; for television, "I Spy " forNBC ;Man's Magazine and Galaxy, and other magazines, and most recently was commissioned by theReader's Digest . His paintings have appeared in several New York City galleries and include portraits in oil as well aslandscapes . Marchetti was a member ofThe Society Of Illustrators (New York).External links
