Iris Peynado is an Italian model and actress born in the Dominican Republic. Her filmography includes: Christopher Columbus (1985), Ancient Warriors (2001), among many other films.

Iris Margarita Peynado is an Italian actress and model born in the Dominican Republic. The daughter of Julio Peynado, a wealthy lawyer from a distinguished and powerful political family, Iris was schooled at the Colegio Santa Teresita in Santo Domingo, having studied theater and acting with Romulo Rivas at the Teatro Estudiantil, and ballet under Clara Elena Ramirez.

At the age of 18 Iris moved to England to study English and theater. While in London she met an Italian man whom she later married. The couple soon had a child and moved to Italy. Soon after the couple divorced and Iris was discovered by a photographer who put her in touch with executives from RAI television. Since then she has acted in many television shows, movies and theatrical productions.
