Domiciano Barrocal Gomes Cavém (Vila Real de Santo António, November 21, 1932 – Alcobaça, January 12, 2005) was a Portuguese footballer who played for SL Benfica. He played first as an extreme-forward, later as a midfielder and a right-defender. Not as skilled as teammates Mário Coluna, José Augusto and Eusébio, he was, nevertheless, one the great Portuguese players of his time, for his versatility on the field.

He spent almost his entire career in Benfica, from 1955/56 to 1969/70, were he won the titles of National Champion, in 1956/57, 1959/60, 1960/61, 1962/63, 1963/64, 1964/65, 1966/67, 1967/68 and 1968/69, and the Cup of Portugal, in 1957, 1959, 1962, 1964 and 1969. He also won the Champions Cup finals in 1961 and 1962, and played and the 1963 and 1965 finals.

National team

He had 18 caps for Portugal National Team, scoring 5 goals, from 8 April 1958, in a 0–1 defeat to Brazil in a friendly match, to 24 June 1965, in a 0–0 tie with Brazil in another friendly match. He played in the 1966 World Cup qualifying matches, but was left out of the squad that participated in the finals. He scored his first international goal against Switzerland in Genébra in 16 May 1959, Portugal had lost the game by 4–3.

The Mystic Dreams

The days before the European Cup finals of Bern (1960/61), and Amsterdam (1961/62), Cavém used to be visited in his dreams by a friendly character, with little hair, and a moustache that told him not to shave his bear in order to be European champion. Benfica won the two finals.
