- 40th Flight Test Squadron
The 40th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron was activated on February 1, 1940 as the 40th Pursuit Squadron, then went through several more name changes, and is known as the 40th Flight Test Squadron since 1994.
The unit saw action in World War II in the Pacific Theatre and in the Korean War.
