- Kapisillit
Kapisillit is a settlement in
West Greenland in the municipality ofNuuk . It is located 75 kilometres from Nuuk at approximately coord|64|25|60|N|50|16|00|W. The inhabitants (88 as of Jan. 2004) mostly subsist on hunting, fishing and tourism. The settlement has its own school, church, and grocery store."Kapisillit" is Greenlandic for 'The salmon'. The name refers to the fact that the only spawning-ground for
salmon in Greenland is a river near the settlement.References
