Scott Koziol was a temporary bass guitarist for
Linkin Park . He played bass for the song "One Step Closer" on the album "Hybrid Theory " (bass on three other tracks was played byIan Hornbeck , all other bass was played by Linkin Park guitaristBrad Delson ). Scott can also be seen in the music video for "One Step Closer," and did several US tours with the band including stops at The Roxy, the Whisky,The Avalon Ballroom , theRoseland Ballroom , radio shows, and others. He left when Dave "Phoenix" Farrell rejoined Linkin Park in late 2000.Barry Squire arranged Koziol's audition for the band Hybrid Theory, now known as Linkin Park, and has acted as his unofficial agent ever since. After Linkin Park, Squire booked Koziol for recordings, shows, plus rehearsal and jam sessions with a variety of artists including ImaRobot, Samantha Ronson, Perry Farrell, Michelle Branch, Revis, Deadsy, 30 Seconds to Mars, 3rd Strike, Hanson, Eve 6, The Calling, Powerman 5000, Humble Gods, Kottonmouth Kings, Organic Soul, Kenna, Persephone Bee's, and others...
Koziol refuses interviews and rarely uses his real name for performances or recordings. Koziol plays a variety of instruments including Bass, Upright Bass, Guitar, Keyboards, Vihuela, Guitarron, and an assortment of world, ethnic, & unconventional percussion instruments. He has been known to use the aliases George Birch or Kush Donkey as a Bassist, Toxic Vomit as a multi-instrumentalist or digital media manipulator, Bruce Steel as a Guitarist, & Cody Ricardo when playing Mariachi instruments. Koziol likes to walk into a room & make music out of what's laying around...
"Fire it Up" by Alligator Records artist Tinsley Ellis(produced by Tom Dowd) was Koziol's first professional recording and tour. While in his teens & early 20's, he jammed with Robert Jr Lockwood, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Doc Watson, Derek Trucks, Jonny Lang, Son Seals, Jimmy Thackary, Tab Benoit, and others...
Scott started working for Apple in 2004. He recently gave a Workshop @ Pepperdine University for members of the Aerospace & Defense industries on the topics of "Social Networks, Web 2.0, & Multi-Generational Workforce."
Scott holds a Bachelor's of Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Sting was the guest of honor at Koziol's graduation from Berklee and handed Scott his Degree at the ceremony.
Koziol is originally from Cleveland, Ohio.
