- Wireless Multiboot
Wireless Multi Boot (WMB) is a method to send programs to be run on the
Nintendo DS using a PC with certainRalink Wi-Fi adaptors.upported hardware
Currently, drivers for
RT2500 orRT2560 based PCI orPC card wireless network adaptors are available on Windows and Linux. It also works withRT2570 /RT2500USB based USB wireless network adaptors, like theNintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector on Linux (and Windows withVMware Player).Uses
Official demos
You can run official demos on an unmodified DS of any version using WMB.However, the software must be given a specific command so it does not send WifiMe instead.
Running homebrew
By sending the DS a special program called
WiFiMe , an unmodified DS can be tricked into running homebrew loaded in the GBA slot. This method only works for DS versions 3 or below. The DS will verify code downloaded over WMB using Nintendo's public RSA encryption key. It is worth noting that, should Nintendo's private RSA key be either guessed or leaked, WMB will become a firmware-independent means to execute arbitrary code (and WifiMe-esque methods would become usable once again).
If a DS is loaded with the unofficial firmware
FlashMe , it will run any homebrew sent to it using WMB.ub loads of software
Some signed software have been reported to load unsigned software after the initial signed software during the remote load.
