tudents and Student Groups

AIT is a predominantly residential college where all students are wards of The Indian Army's personnel. As such there is a very healthy mix of people from all over the country which gives the institute a very lively feel. The students engage in all sorts of extra curricular activities like sports, dramatics, debates and hence are regular winners at most inter college festivals held in pune.

In the past AIT had a history of organising inter college sports tournament "PACE" which now has been called off because of unspecified reasons.

A number of student groups exist within the college. They include the Music Club, Spiritual Club, the Magazine Board as well as the Technical Board.

The [Magazine Board or Mag Board] [http://magboard.ait.googlepages.com link to homepage] as it is more popularly called at AIT Pune is the most high profile of the groups in the past couple of years. Beyond publishing the college magazine 'Srijna', the board organizes a host of activities throughout the year to make campus life more fun for the rest of students which include publishing an informal e-letter 'eMAGe' as well as organizing an annual treasure hunt, maintaining a fun board etc. The entry to the Magazine board is based on a written round followed by two interviews.

Alumni

The AIT Alumni is around 1500 strong, and is well placed across various industries. They have created a good brand name for their college in corporate world as well as academia. A few students especially from the earlier batches (1998-2001) are also serving in the Armed Forces.

AIT has an Alumni Association, which is responsible for networking the Alumni, and also providing necessary help and support for the current batches by organizing events and seminars in the college. There is an annual Alumni meet in the college, where the Alumni get to interact with the students and faculty; cultural and sports events are also held during the meet.
