Belfast North (Dáil Éireann constituency)

Belfast North (Dáil Éireann constituency)

Belfast North, was a former potential Dáil Éireann parliamentary constituency. It was a Dáil constituency 1921-1922.

Politics of the constituency

Even in a proportional representation election the Unionists won all four seats. The Nationalists and Sinn Féin combined could not accumulate a quota of more than one-fifth of the votes.

Of the four Unionist MPs, Campbell and McKeown were businessmen whilst Grant and McGuffin were founder members of the Ulster Unionist Labour Association.
