He represented theDenmark national football team in four matches, making his debut at the age of 35 onApril 25 2001 in the goodbye match ofPeter Schmeichel .He started his senior career at
Vejle BK in 1983, before moving to Silkeborg IF in 1993. He had a brief stint inTurkey withBeşiktaş J.K. before ending his career with Scottish club Aberdeen.Kjær was included in the Denmark squads for the
1998 FIFA World Cup , Euro 2000 and2002 FIFA World Cup , but he spent all three tournaments on the bench.Today, Kjær is sporting director of Danish football club
