Elizabeth "Libby" Fox is a fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera "EastEnders". She is played by Belinda Owusu. She made her first appearance on 22 May 2006. She is the daughter of Denise Fox and Owen Turner, and half sister of Chelsea Fox.

History

Libby had a nickname, "Squiggle", because her sister Chelsea thought she looked like one on her first baby scan, though most people other than Denise and Chelsea called her Libby. She later informed her mother that she would no longer answer to Squiggle.

She soon became friends with Darren Miller, and helped him out when he played truant and missed the school photo. She photoshopped his face onto the photo so he could trick his parents into believing he was at school.

She secretly contacted her father's family, and soon after her arrival in Walford, her father Owen arrived and started making demands to see her. A reluctant Denise had to let Owen see Libby, but was furious when she found out that Owen was planning to take Libby to Spain to visit her grandmother. However, Denise and Owen slept together one night. Owen hit Denise a couple of days later, witnessed by Chelsea and Libby. The following week, Owen held Denise hostage in her flat. After Denise's boyfriend Kevin Wicks and Libby noticed Denise's absence, they called the police and Owen was arrested. Owen's mother Liz visited him in prison on 14 September 2006, and took Libby to see him the following day. Libby was upset by this, and persuaded Denise to give Owen a character witness. Owen received a six month sentence, suspended for two years.

On 26 September 2006, Owen kidnapped Libby and took her to Epping Forest in a car stolen from Kevin's car lot. He drugged her and phoned Denise, telling her that she wouldn't have to worry about them now. He tried to kill himself and Libby by filling the car with noxious exhaust fumes. Libby escaped, and when Denise arrived at the forest and called Libby's name, she called back, and Owen grabbed her and tried to drown her in a stream. She fell unconscious and Owen jumped into the stream himself. Denise arrived to see Libby's unconscious body on the bank of the stream. She was later taken to hospital and made a full recovery. When in the flat, she was reminded of her ordeal, so Kevin invited her and Denise and Chelsea to live with him at Pat's house.
It was revealed that on 15 September 2008, Libby helped Whitney Dean land a part as Juliet in the play '"Romeo and Juliet" in a school play, much to the dislike from Whitney's step-father Tony King.

Libby started a computer business with Darren Miller, putting images of Li Chong own their website, [http://desperaterussianhousewives.co.uk/ desperaterussianhousewives.co.uk] and pretending to be her to make money. A man got in touch, and Libby realised that their address could be seen in the photo they had taken of Li, currently Mickey Miller's girlfriend. The man informed "Li" that he would visit her in Albert Square. They also set up hidden webcams around the Millers' home, which were broadcast on [http://www.watchagrownmanrot.co.uk www.watchagrownmanrot.co.uk] .

Libby has since continued a long liking of Gus Smith, and has attempted to impress him despite his age. She later claimed to have got over Gus and started talking to a stranger with the screenname of Einstein27 in an internet chat room. When confronted by Yolande about the dangers of meeting someone online she defended it by saying that times have changed, but proceeded with caution by asking for a picture, but after he said he was unable to send one, she later agreed to meet him in person. When she met the stranger, she discovered that she had been chatting to Darren all along. Darren admitted to liking Libby but she said he should have told her to her face and she refused to speak to him. Yolande arranged a meal between them which got them talking again. They ended up playing Scrabble, after which they decided to start a relationship. A few weeks later Darren went to visit his mother and Demi, before he left the two shared their first passionate kiss, Libby was heartbroken when she eventually found out from Keith that Darren had decided not to come back and instead decided to stay with his mother and Demi. She achieved eight A*s, two As and a B in her GCSEs.

Darren did in fact return some weeks later but Libby avoided him. When she finally plucked up the courage to see him, she heard him talking about Clara. Thinking he had found someone new, she pretended she was going out with Tamwar Masood. It turned out Clara was a dog and the pair got back together.

In January 2008, Libby's mother, Denise left on a trip around the world to scatter Kevin's ashes. Libby and Chelsea went to stay in the Trueman household.

In March 2008, Libby helped Chealsea to track down her long lost father, Lucas Johnson.

In May 2008, Libby and Darren had an anniversary diinery to celebrate a year of going out. However Jay Brown revealed that Darren frequently looked at adult magazines. Libby became furious and refused to talk to Darren for some days. She confided in Tamwar with whom she was in the process of starting a home tutoring business. Darren became jealous of the amount of time she was spending with him and even confronted Tamwar in the cafe. Libby and Darren eventually reconciled and began thinking about taking their relationship to the next level. On May 26th, Darren made sure everyone was out of the house and invited Libby around. However Jay (who had been eavesdropping on their recent conversations) ruined the night by coming in and telling Libby that Darren told him that she was a virgin. Libby ran off crying and found Chelsea who brought her to the club. Chelsea gave Libby alcohol which resulted in her vomiting outside.

On 15 September 2008, Libby had been helping organising a school play for the modern version of 'Romeo and Juliet' to the school's version to 'Romeo and Julie' and had offered to help Whitney Dean for the part of Julie (Juliet) and Peter Beale for the part of Romeo.
