An integrated database system is a method used by small and large businesses which incorporates IT to help with processes in manufacturing. It updates stores and records information to enable a quick means of retrieval; some examples of this include, design technology (updates of concept ideas.) specifications for component parts, it includes quality control information, test results and manufacturing process plans. In many ways it is a large knowledge repository, apart from it is more technologically advanced, for instance you can do searches for a singular part which may be included in many different products.
