Oddset Ligaen

Oddset Ligaen is the premier league in Danish ice hockey. The name is a result of a sponsorship deal with the state owned gaming company Danske Spil (formerly known as Dansk Tipstjeneste.) It is also known as Superisligaen or Eliteserien, which is the name used in the past and in times where no naming rights agreement is in place. From the 2007-08 season the league will be sponsored by Danish bank Arbejdernes Landsbank. As a result of this new sponsorship deal, the league will officially be known as the AL-Bank Ligaen.

The league will from the 2007-08 season consist of 10 teams who play a 45 game regular season. The top 8 proceed to the playoffs where quarterfinals, semifinals and the final are all played in the best of 7 game format.

For the 2007-08 season a tenth team, TOTEMPO HvIK will join the league. The team is based in Hvidovre, a suburb of Copenhagen. The name is a result of a sponsorship deal.

The 2006-07 season

The reigning champions are Herning Blue Fox who beat AaB (Aalborg) 4 games to 1 in the final. SønderjyskE won the bronze medals.
