Hydrodeoxygenation

Hydrodeoxygenation

Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) is a hydrogenolysis process removing oxygenated compounds from the fast pyrolysis derived bio-oil using commercial hydrotreating catalysts in the form of water.

Hydrotreating catalyst commonly uses are nickel-molybdenum or cobalt-molybdenum on gamma alumina, zeolites (ZSM-5), palladium on carbon and platinum on carbon as well as alumina.
