"I Took a Trip on a Gemini Spaceship" is a song written by Norman Carl Odam, aka the Legendary Stardust Cowboy, who inspired the surname of David Bowie's character "Ziggy Stardust".
Bowie recorded this song for his album "Heathen" in 2002. Odam returned the compliment by recording a version of "Space Oddity".
