psychology andbusiness atSanta Monica City College and going to night school atUCLA , where she studiedcriminology .She formerly worked as a hypnotist's assistant. Her gatefold pictures illustrated the many "brainy" forms of relaxation she employed at home. These included working on a clay, wire and plastic sculpture and attending the
Picasso exhibition at theLos Angeles County Museum of Art .In the aftermath of Gibson's centerfold appearance it was revealed that she had been convicted on
prostitution charges inSanta Monica, California . "Esquire" magazine presented her with one of its "Dubious Distinction Achievement Awards". The accompanying caption read "for Joey Gibson 1967 was a year of both promise and travail."The upside of the year for her included her selection from a field of over 200 aspirants to play a role in a big-budgetMGM film.Today Joey is a frequent guest at the GlamourCon conventions held in Los Angeles.
