MacDonald Taylor

MacDonald Taylor (born 27 August 1957 in Trinidad and Tobago) is a former football defender in the United States Virgin Islands, best known for being the oldest player to take part in an official international match; when he took the field for the U.S. Virgin Islands against St. Kitts and Nevis on March 31, 2004, in a qualifying match for the 2006 FIFA World Cup he was aged 46 years and 180 days. [According to [http://access.fifa.com/infoplus/IP-301_04A_play-super.pdf "FIFA World Cup Superlatives: Players"] . A [http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/t/mr/mr35995.html FIFA report] , however, indicates that Taylor participated in another match after that date, again versus St. Kitts and Nevis, on March 31 2004, breaking his own record. If the age listed in the "Superlatives" (PDF) file corresponds to the February match, then in accordance with the match report from March the actual record would be 46 years and 222 days.]

Taylor is the U.S. Virgin Islands most capped player.
