Tibor Weißenborn

Tibor Weißenborn (born march 20, 1981 in West Berlin) is a field hockey player from Germany, who was a member of the Men's National Team that won the bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece and of both the teams that won the 10th World Cup in Malaysia in 2002, and 11th World Cup in Germany in 2006, .

The midfielder, who plays for Rot-Weiß Köln in the 2nd German League after playing for two seasons for Dutch club HC Bloemendaal, made his international senior debut for the national team on March 24, 1998 in a friendly against The Netherlands in Amstelveen. He was first selected in the national squad when he was only 18 years old, and he played in over hundred international matches in his first three years in the German team. As of January 20, 2008, Weißenborn earned 289 caps for his native country, in which he scored 33 goals. He is nicknamed "Tibs". He was named "Men's Young Player of the Year" in 2001 by the International Hockey Federation.
