Center for Biomedical Imaging

The Center for Biomedical Imaging, also known as the CBI, is located at the Boston University Medical Center. It is a newly established core facility for conducting basic and clinical research in biomedical imaging. The CBI is located at the Evans Biomedical Research Center in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, and was founded in 2003.

The CBI houses a 3 tesla Philips MRI scanner for functional, structural, and spectroscopic studies of humans and animals. The CBI provides researchers with access to the MRI as well as expertise in all modalities of MRI, not only for the Boston University Community, but also for researchers at other institutions. Currently, researchers at the CBI are working on projects funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, National Institute on Drug Abuse, Human Frontiers in Science Program and Nancy Lurie Marks Family Foundation.
