Susan Westerberg Prager (1942-) became the sixth Association of American Law Schools Executive Vice President and Executive Director on September 1, 2008. She is a American
legal scholar and administrator who served as president ofOccidental College from2006 -2007 . Prager was dean of theUCLA School of Law from1982 to1998 , being one of the first female deans of alaw school in the United States. During her term at the UCLA School of Law, she became the second woman to serve as the president of theAssociation of American Law Schools . Prager was born inSacramento, California , and grew up inSloughhouse, California , a small town outside of Sacramento. She received her undergraduate degree in history fromStanford University in1964 , and she later received amaster's degree in history, also from Stanford. She received her law degree fromUCLA . She is also a former provost ofDartmouth College . Early in her career, she worked for a number of legislators, includingU.S. Senator Thomas Kuchel ofCalifornia .On
November 19 th,2007 , ine-mail addressed to students and faculty, Prager announced her intent to resign as president of Occidental College effective at the end of the year. Prager cited incompatibility with board members as a reason for her resignation.External links
