Trailfinders

Trailfinders is the UK's largest independent travel company with 28 travel centres in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia. The company specialises in tailormade travel worldwide. From budget trips to luxury First and Business Class travel they have a wide range of flights, tours, hotels, cruises, car & motorhome hire across the globe that they will combine to create your perfect holiday.

Trailfinders was founded in 1970 by former SAS officer Mike Gooley with a staff of four. The company remains privately owned but today has a staff of over 1000 and has made travel arrangements for over 10 million clients.

The pioneers of tailormade travel, they keep up their high standards of customer service by encouraging their consultants tot travel - between them they have travelled to over 90% of the world's countries. They use this firsthand knowledge to advise clients on the best travel arrangements for them. As a result they do not offer an online booking service, instead preferring to deal with clients in person at one of their travel centres or over the telephone to provide a one-to-one bespoke service. They do not charge credit card fees nor use premium rate telephone numbers.

Trailfinders was Voted Best Specialist Travel Organiser by readers of the The Daily Telegraph in 2007 and has previously been awarded Best Specialist Independent Travel Company every year since the inception of The Telegraph travel awards. Also in 2007 they were awarded Best Tour Operator in "The Guardian", "The Observer" and Guardian Unlimited Travel Awards and have previously won the Best Travel Agent category on seven separate occasions.

Mike Gooley also owns Bloomfield Lodge, a boutique lodge set between the Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef in Far North Queensland, Australia. He is a fixture in the Sunday Times Rich List.
