Rev. Daniel Davis

Rev. Daniel Davis

Reverend Daniel Davis was the first Reverend to hold service the Cottle Church. Rev. Davis was born in St. Kitts to a planter father. When he was older, he went to Oxford University, where he became an abolitionist. After that, he returned to the Leeward Islands and worked strongly, but quietly, for abolition in St. Kitts and Nevis. He later became a Reverend at St. Paul's Church in Nevis. And in 1824, Rev. Davis became the first Reverend at the newly-built Cottle Church. It is not known how long he worked at the Cottle Church.
