Judith A. Hunt, originally from Washington State, is an illustrator/painter/cartoonist/designer who has produced a diverse array of artwork for books, magazines, television, comics, videos, and toys. She has worked as an art director and staff illustrator/designer for magazine companies. She currently illustrates educational texts and children's books from her studio in Kennebunk, Maine and showcases her fine art in local art shows. Current memberships and affiliations include the

Her artwork has taken many twists and turns to adapt to the constantly changing demands of the commercial art market. She has done educational book development, children’s book illustration, book cover illustration, and magazine illustration. Her knowledge of botany and ecology has led her to illustrating botanical and wildlife conservation signs & posters for many conservation organizations including the U.S. Forestry Service and The State of Maine Department of Conservation. She created model sheets, templates, and character designs ofJohnny Gruelle ’s much belovedRaggedy Ann and Andy for MacMillan Publishing and the well-knownHighlights for Children characters,Timbertoes , and cartoon model books for characters appearing in Highlights for Children's "Funzone" and "Which Way USA" educational puzzle series. She co-created and wrote (1980-1987) many cartoon and comic books with her previous husband,Chuck Dixon , including "Robotech Defenders ", "Evangeline", and educationalWinnie-the-Pooh word books, besides being the primary illustrator on these projects. Other comics include several issues of "Conan the King" during the late 1980s, including an entire issue inked byAl Williamson . She also illustrated the Timbertoes comic strip (1992-2002) and worked as a puzzle designer for Highlights' "Puzzlemania", Hidden Picture books, "Which Way USA" and "Funzone" magazine.Some of her more recently published work includes the educational book "Animals Under Our Feet", the historical pre-teen novel "Susan Creek" by Douglas Winter, and the winner of the 2008 2nd Annual CIPA Illustration Award; the children's picture book "Prunes and Rupe" by Lydia Griffin.
