tv_com_id =Toopy and Binoo is a kid's television series created by
Treehouse TV ,Spectra Animation andHarpo Productions . Original characters were created by French Canadian authorDominique Jolin .Format
Toopy and Binoo is a
cartoon about a mouse named Toopy and his best friend, a plush cat named Binoo. Each episode follows a playful adventure, usually created out of their imaginations. Toopy is the only character that speaks, and for the most part provides enthusiastic descriptions of their adventures. Individual segments are approximately 5 minutes in length, but are frequently grouped together as one half-hour episode, both on television and DVD releases.Creation
"Toupie et Binou" was the original title of the children books collection written by Dominique Jolin. The same collection appeared in English under the title "Washington and Deecee". Binoo then appeared in a small series of his own. Treehouse and Spectra Animation then brought them to television, both in English and French version, dubbing their English names to "Toopy and Binoo".
Characters
Major
* Toopy - Main Character:A giant
mouse that wears a red shirt with yellow stripes. Toopy is the main character and often gets into trouble. He and Binoo are best friends. He is the only character capable of real speech. Some of the trouble Toopy goes through includes getting lost in a maze, trapped in a fortress and getting his diaper changed. While Toopy has a male-sounding voice and appears to play a male role in most episodes, in some episodes he plays a female role, such as in "Princess Toopy", where Toopy dresses up as a princess and kisses frogs, trying to turn them into a prince.He is also appearing as a playable character in the fictional game "Super Solar Fighters."* Binoo - Imaginary Friend:A tiny plush
cat with a long tail and a pink nose, who is imaginary. Binoo can't talk out loud, though he can apparently communicate by whispering. In at least one episode, he whispered something into Toopy's ear. He carries around a green doll called Patchy-Patch, who often needs to be saved. Binoo is said to be a plush doll because he has stitches on his stomach, but in one episode, he sneezes stuffing.He is also appearing as a playable character in the fictional game "Super Solar Fighters."* Patchy-Patch:Binoo's doll. Patchy-Patch is an old toy covered with patches. Patchy-Patch rescues Little Bo Toopy, Mermaid Toopy and Princess Toopy in the episode "Song and Dance". He also has a house inside Toopy and Binoo's blanket.He makes a cameo appearance as a giant version of itself in "Super Solar Fighters", acting as Binoo's "Special Finisher."
