* 70 Greatest Redskins

William Glenn Brundige (born November 13, 1948 in Holyoke, Colorado) is a former American football defensive end in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins for eight seasons between 1970 and 1977. He is currently sixth on the Redskins all-time sack list.

Brundige played college football for Colorado. After a senior season in which he was named first-team All-American in 1969, he was drafted in the second round of the 1970 NFL Draft by the Redskins.

Brundige is best known for blocking Garo Yepremian's field goal attempt with less than two minutes left in Super Bowl VII. Yepremian managed to get to the ball before any other player did, and instead of just falling on the ball to preserve the Dolphins' 14–0 lead, he picked it up and attempted to throw a pass. The ball slipped from his hands, Brundige tipped it and it went right into the arms of Redskins cornerback Mike Bass, who returned it for a touchdown; it is considered one of the greatest and most bizarre Super Bowl plays of all time.
