Rasul Gamzatovich Gamzatov (Avar: "Расул ХIамзатов"; _ru. Расу́л Гамза́тович Гамза́тов) was probably the most famous poet writing in the Avar language. Among his poems was "Zhuravli", which became a well-known Russian song.
