List of Singaporean electoral divisions

The constituencies of Singapore are electoral divisions that elect Members of Parliament to the Parliament of Singapore in every election.

There are two types of electoral divisions; namely the Group Representation Constituency (GRC) and the Single Member Constituency (SMC). Each GRC consists of 5 to 6 divisions.

2006 changes

On March 3, 2006, the Elections Department published the updated list of electoral divisions for the current Singapore general election which is widely expected to be held in 2006. There are fourteen GRCs, each with five or six seats, and nine SMCs. The total number of contested seats is 84, the same as the last general election in 2001.

The changes in electoral map affect about 175,000 Singaporeans, or about eight percent of the electorate. cite news | title = The numbers game | publisher = Today (Singapore newspaper) | date = 4 March 2006 | url = http://www.todayonline.com/articles/104599.asp ] The major changes in the electoral divisions are as follows:
