Career

Myolie attended Boarding School at Methodist College Belfast before returning to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

She entered the Miss Hong Kong pageant in 1999 and won second runner-up. She joined TVB shortly afterward and started out as minor characters in a few of her first TV dramas. Her popularity rose after starring in Golden Faith as the mentally challenged little sister of Gallen Lo. As a result, she ended up winning the Most Improved Female Artist Award at the 2002 TVB Anniversary Awards.

In 2005, she starred in Wars of In-Laws as Tin-Lik with Liza Wang and Bosco Wong. It was that drama that made her have ongoing rumors with her co-star Bosco Wong.

In 2006, Myolie sang the theme song for her series War and Destiny. In 2008, she released her debuted EP titled "Evolve".

Despite criticism, Myolie gained major weight for her role as an overweight woman in the 2006 TVB series, To Grow With Love, in which she starred with Andy Hui. Audiences had mixed reactions in her decision to gain weight for the role, instead of using alternative methods (like wearing a fat suit). Hu managed to lose her gained weight with the help of a slimming company, in less than two months. She also won Best Comedy Performance by an Actress at the Asian Television Award, being the first Hong Kong artist to win that award.

Myolie has been a supporter of Oxfam Hong Kong since 2006. As an ambassador for Oxfam Myolie travelled to Guizhou and Zhengzhou China and had seen for herself the poverty affecting the rural villages of China. She was deeply moved by the sincerity of the people living there and have since put in a lot of effort to improve their lives and provide better opportunities for their children. Aside from Oxfam Myolie have also done charity work in Hong Hong, most notably her effort in helping elderly citizens.

In 2007, Myolie had a role in the production the Drive of Life. She was paired with Mainland actor Feng Shao Feng. Some fans enjoyed the two together so much, they nicknamed them "Fenolie". Similar to the nickname given to Bosco and Myolie, "Boscolie". Myolie then starred as Chow Li-Man in the second installment on Wars of In-Laws in 2008.

In 2009, Myolie filmed her first Mainland drama. She is once again paired with Feng Shao Feng. Later that year she released her second EP called Loveholic.
