Jimena has changed over the last thirty years, once a remote village, now a melting pot of ex-pats from all of Europe. In the early 80's Jimena was hit by an influx of Heroin, since then cocaine and other drugs have scared the town's young.The entrance to Jimena was once a beautiful canopy of eucalyptus trees, the trees were cut down to assist parking at the new homes built next to the Ferai grounds at the lower end of town.Jimena is a beautiful town, and inhabited by wonderful Spanish people.

It did have a cinema, owned by a kind man called Ceraphin, who sadly passed away in the early 90's.

Jimena de la Frontera is a town and municipality located in the province of Cádiz, Spain. According to estimates made by the National Statistics Institute of Spain (INE), the municipality has a population of 9,893 inhabitants in 2006.

It's inside the Los Alcornocales Natural Park.
