- Flisa
Flisa is a small town in south-eastern
Norway , and the administrative centre ofÅsnes municipality. Its population as of January 1, 2008 is 3,353.For some time the log driver statue was the town's only landmark. In recent years however, attractions such as the world's longest wooden bridge and the world's tallest toothstick have been built. The latter due to the fact that Norway's largest producer of toothsticks is located nearby.
Inspite of its low population, Flisa has a large variety of shops of diverse kinds that are located along the town's main street, Kaffegata (in English: The Coffee Street). Flisa is also called the "city of the Solør region" because it is the largest settlement in the region consisting of three municipalities. Flisa does not have city status by Norwegian standards, thus, local newspapers and citizens believe this has a certain irony.
Flisa has become famous due to its mosquitos in the summer season.
