Andrew Hacker (born 1929) is an American
political scientist and public intellectual.He is currently
Professor Emeritus in the Department of Political Science atQueens College in New York. He did his undergraduate work atAmherst College . This was followedby graduate work atOxford University ,University of Michigan , andPrinceton University where he received hisPhD degree. Hacker taught at Cornell before taking his current position at Queens.Current works in progress include a book on higher education in America in collaborationwith Claudia Dreifus. Professor Hacker is a frequent contributor to the
