A48 road (betweenMinsterworth andNewnham on Severn ) and bounded by theRiver Severn to the south and west.The village has a large
parish church which is distinctive as thesteeple is not attached to the main building, this is due to a fire which burned down the old wooden building soon after the new steeple was completed. Within the porch of the church are several markings of crosses and full crosses made during theEnglish Civil War Westbury is just over a mile long, and has only one housing estate built to the south of the main
A48 road . The village also has apost office come village store and apub "The Red Lion"The parish of Westbury-on-Severn comprises more than twelve separate settlements, the parish is a lively community with a tradition of strong support for a broad range of social events and sports and leisure groups mainly conducted by the church.
