Lykathé is a Czech progressive metal/technical death metal band formed in Prague in 1999.

Biography

Previously known as Appalling Spawn, the band released the demo record "Bestial, Mystical, & Spiritual (The First Spawn)" in 1996, and one full-length CD, "Freedom, Hope, & Fury (The Second Spawn)" in 1998. The band became known as Lykathea Aflame once Tomás Corn from Garbage Disposal joined. Under this name, the band released a full-length CD called "Elvenefris" in 2000.

The band has now changed their name to Lykathé, and has a new logo and a new lineup. An album under this name was apparently being recorded; [ [http://www.maelstrom.nu/ezine/interview_iss13_24.php?sid=78e265e5adb22c033668c94e2f628c0c&page_rs=1&osCsid=78e265e5adb22c033668c94e2f628c0c Interview with Tománek on Mealstrom] ] however, Tomás Corn announced at some point afterward that he was forced to quit playing drums due to neurological problems in his foot, [ [http://www.screammagazine.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=1932348#1932348 Forum post made by Tomás Corn at ScreamMagazine.com] ] leaving the status of the new album unclear.
