Johann Parler

Johann Parler (born about 1359 in Prague, died 1405 or 1406), also known as Johann Parler the Younger, was a German architect of Bohemia.

Johann Parler comes from the Parler family, whose members were architects in whole Europe. He was a son of the famous Gothic architect Peter Parler, who built the Saint Vitus Cathedral and Charles Bridge in Prague.

After his father Peter Parler died, Johann Parler worked eight years in Prague, continuing the works on the Saint Vitus Cathedral. Then he moved to Kuttenburg, where he was the first architect of the famous St. Barbara Church in the first period of its construction. The late Gothic Cathedral is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
