city_Paliki ( _el. Παλική "Palikē") is a peninsula of
Kefalonia , one of theIonian Islands of westernGreece , at coord|38|18|39.72|N|20|25|6.75|E|. The name comes from the ancient town of Pale/Pali, which was north of Lixouri and is now an archaeologica site. Lixouri with all suburbs and settlements covers the whole peninsula and is officially called Dimos Palikis ("City of the palic [peninsula] ") The peninsula and municipality are the westernmost part of the island ofKefalonia .ubdivisions

The farmlands including several hills cover the southern and the eastern parts, the mountains to the central part, the west and the northern part.
History
The oldest document which contains the name "Lixouri" was sent in 1534 by local authorities to the Senate of Venice. Many houses were destroyed in the earthquakes of January 23rd 1867 and August 1953.
