Severin started his career at Hearts where he was a highly rated youngster and made his debut against Motherwell.
Scott opted to join Aberdeen in July 2004 when his contract expired. He has played for Scotland 14 times since making his international debut against Latvia in 2001.
He signed a new, three-and-a-half year contract at Pittodrie in December 2005.
On the final day of the 06/07 season, Severin drilled in a stunning goal which secured a victory over bitter rivals Rangers and gave Aberdeen a return to European football for the forthcoming season. This was a massive achievement for the club as they hoped to relive their glory days of the 1980's.
In July 2007 he was handed the captaincy of Aberdeen, succeeding
