Elizabeth "Liz" Sanbourne1 is a fictional character on the American soap opera "Passions". She was portrayed by Amelia Marshall from October 2001 to February 2006.

Character's background

Liz is the adopted daughter of Mr. Sanbourne and Ruby Lincoln and adopted half-sister of Eve, Ruby's daughter from a previous relationship. Born in 1960, she was sexually abused by her father (who she believed to be her biological father) and blamed Eve for it; Eve had left home to be a nightclub singer, not knowing what was going on in the house.

Liz grew up to own a resort on St. Lisa's island, where she was in love with an ex-boyfriend named Brian. She and Brian never seemed to be able to work things out. Brian brought back a woman who washed ashore with amnesia. She said her name was Diana. Liz, Brian and their friend Doc helped Diana try to regain her memory, although Liz was jealous of the attention Brian was paying to Diana. Diana turned out to be the heiress Sheridan Crane of Harmony. Liz and Brian followed her to Harmony, where Liz knew her sister lived. She vowed revenge.

After coming to Harmony, Liz plotted and plotted to pay Eve back by letting everyone know of Eve's past. Finally all of Eve's sordid past came out and disgraced her in the eyes of TC, who divorced Eve and for a time became involved with Liz. Sometime later, Liz and TC were engaged. Liz was later poisoned by Rebecca Hotchkiss Crane and blamed Eve. Not long after this, TC sent Liz packing when he desired to try and get back with Eve. The reconciliation fell through, but TC didn't resume his relationship with Liz, who continued to hang around Harmony seeking to further punish Eve.

Through flashbacks, it was revealed that Liz was raped by Alistair Crane when she was fourteen, when she had gone off to Boston in search of her sister Eve, who at the time had abandoned her family to pursue a life of singing, drugs, and alcohol with Julian. It is at this time that Chad Harris-Crane was most likely conceived. Chad was thought to be Eve and Julian's son; Liz had not known of his existence.

Liz confessed to multiple attempts on the lives of Alistair Crane and his son Julian Crane (including the nearly-forgotten 'Who Shot Julian Crane' story in 2002, in which she was not initially presented as a suspect as her past with the Crane men was left a secret for several years), before leaving Harmony in 2006, apparently abandoning her plans of revenge against Eve.

Victims

* Alistair Crane, poisoned his cigar; stabbed him then tired to smoother him
* Julian Crane, numerous attempts to kill him
