Chicago , started atGlendale High School ,Glendale, California and atStanford University where he was coached byT formation apostleClark Shaughnessy . At Stanford he was a member ofDelta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. In the1942 NFL Draft he was drafted by theChicago Bears as a 10th overall pick. After quarterbacking theLos Angeles Bulldogs of thePacific Coast Football League in 1945, he played seven seasons for theSan Francisco 49ers . Albert, a left-handed scrambler, was credited for inventing thebootleg play and he was named AAFC co-Most Valuable Player withOtto Graham in 1948. He played his last two seasons competing withY. A. Tittle . Albert played one final season with theCanadian Football League 'sCalgary Stampeders . After his retirement, he became thehead coach of theSan Francisco 49ers . He coached the 49ers for 3 seasons with a 19-16-1 record. He died onSeptember 5 ,2002 , fromAlzheimer's Disease .
