Hallgeir H. Langeland

Hallgeir H. Langeland (born November 14, 1955 in Strand) is a Norwegian politician for the Socialist Left Party (SV). He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Rogaland in 1997.

He was involved in the Stavanger municipality council from 1991 to 1997.

In 2001, Hallgeir Langeland nominated Fidel Castro for the Nobel Peace Prize for sending medical and engineering aid to developing countries. [ [http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/low/americas/1225789.stm "Castro put up for Nobel"] , BBC News, March 16, 2001.]
