- My Night with Julia
-
My Night with Julia is a documentary film made by South London art historian and art dealer Matthew Bown. It was broadcast on Channel 4 television in the United Kingdom on July 30, 2003.
The film was the first in the history of UK television to depict the encounter between a prostitute and a client from within: in this case, from the point of view of the client, Matthew Bown, who held a camera during the event. After viewer complaints to Ofcom, the UK broadcasting watchdog, it was decided that the film "had exceeded acceptable limits", which effectively precluded its being shown again on UK television.[1]
