Tzvi Marrano Avni (
Hebrew : צבי אבני; born Hermann Jakob Steinke inSaarbrücken ,Germany , 1927; first name sometimes spelled Zvi) is anIsrael i composer. He emigrated to Palestine as a child and studied withPaul Ben-Haim .On the recommendation of
Edgard Varèse , he became involved at theColumbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center in the 1960s. Later he founded an electronic studio at theJerusalem Academy of Music, following the guidelines of his mentor in New York,Vladimir Ussachevsky .External links
